The complete family with 51 weights

In 1983, D. Stempel AG redesigned and digitized the "Neue Helvetica" typeface for Linotype and made it a self-contained font family. Today, this family consists of 51 different font weights. The original numbering system for the weight designations came from the numbering of the Univers™ font. The basic font weight, "Helvetica roman", is at the heart of this numbering system. The designation "55 roman" forms the central point. The first figure of the number describes the stroke thickness - 25 ultra light to 95 extra black. The second figure gives information on the width and orientation of the font - Helvetica 53 extended to Helvetica 57 condensed. Neue Helvetica™ sets new standards in terms of its form and number of variants. It is the quintessential sans serif font, timeless and neutral, and can be used for all types of communication.

With this typeface, curling up with a good book is lots of fun

The creation of a new sanserif, monoline font as a text face – this was the starting point for Linotype Finnegan™. Easy and comfortable legibility in large-scale text setting was the foremost concern. Usually, sanserifs are not optimal for reading longer texts because their neutrality and functionality lead quickly to fatigue and disinterest in the reader. This was the exciting challenge for designer Jürgen Weltin: to create a new sanserif typeface that fulfilled this function.

The Italian designer Antonio Pace created the font Linotype Gianotten™ in 2000. Linotype Gianotten™ is a new interpretation of the classic Bodoni font.

For this adaptation of the modern face, Antonio Pace went back to Giambattista Bodoni's original punches, kept in a museum in Parma, and reinterpreted the 200-year-old characters for the world of modern digital technology.
